Safety rules

A prank is a gift you give someone: a story they'll enjoy telling. If the person on the receiving end wouldn't choose it, it isn't a prank — it's just something you did to them.

The one rule above all others

Stop immediately, apologise plainly, and clean up completely the moment someone stops laughing. No "it was just a joke", no doubling down, no second attempt later.

The green-light checklist

Every single box has to be ticked. One "no" means don't.

The target is an adult who has a track record of enjoying jokes like this.
You could describe the prank to them in advance and they'd still find it funny.
Everything is reversible within two minutes, by you.
No one's food, drink, medication, body, or safety is involved in any way.
No one's money, job, housing, grades, or relationships are put at risk.
Nobody is filmed or posted without asking them afterwards.
You are ready to stop, apologise, and clean up the second it lands badly.

What we will never publish

Prank Lab does not host instructions for any of the following, and we won't add them on request. If a tutorial you want isn't here, this is usually why.

Anything involving food, drink, or medication

No tampering, substituting, spiking, hiding ingredients, or 'harmless' laxatives and hot sauce. Allergies and medical conditions are invisible, and the consequences are not funny.

Fear, shock, and fake emergencies

No jump scares, staged intruders, fake accidents, fake diagnoses, fake arrests, fake breakups, or false reports to emergency services. Swatting is a crime that kills people.

Property damage or tampering

No breaking, staining, defacing, disabling, or 'temporarily' sabotaging vehicles, appliances, tools, locks, or anyone's belongings.

Anything physical

No tripping, pushing, restraining, throwing, dropping, wet floors, electrical gags, chemicals, fire, weapons, or anything involving heights, water, or roads.

Digital intrusion

No passcode bypassing, account access, reading or sending someone's messages, installing tracking or spyware, deleting files, or impersonating anyone online.

Harassment and targeting identity

Nothing about race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, body, age, immigration status, or mental health. Nothing sexual. Nothing repeated at the same unwilling person.

Gaslighting and psychological manipulation

No long-running schemes designed to make someone doubt their memory, sanity, or relationships. Comedy ends where genuine distress begins.

Vulnerable and non-consenting people

No minors, no strangers in public, no service staff, no elderly or unwell people, no one impaired by alcohol, and no one who has ever asked you to stop.

Legal and personal responsibility

Prank Lab is intended for adults and is published for entertainment only. Laws, workplace policies, tenancy agreements, and school rules differ everywhere, and following a tutorial here does not make an action lawful or acceptable in your situation. You are entirely responsible for your own conduct and its consequences.
